Texas Campgrounds

The story of Grand Texas begins in 2008, when the Ward and Galland families thought about creating a a kid-friendly, roadside destination selling pick-your-own peaches off of Highway 290 in Waller County. When the real estate transaction upon it was based fell through, the families settled on a larger site in Tomball, Texas.
City wrangling and regulations pushed the families to seek a more suitable site that would accommodate a larger venue; one that was worthy of the greater Houston area and the great State of Texas. With the help and guidance of families and friends, a “grander” venue was designed, and a perfect location was found in East Montgomery County, at the junction of Interstate 69 (formerly US 59) and State Highway 242.
What began as a peach orchard evolved into what is know today as Grand Texas. Grand Texas is a destination development, which currently encompasses over 632 acres, and which continues to grow. When complete, Grand Texas will contain the Houston area’s largest amusement park, the Big Rivers Waterpark, The Grove Factory Outlets, Speedsportz Racing Park, Grand Texas Sportsplex, Grand Texas RV Resort, and a promenade featuring numerous dining, shopping, and entertainment venues. Dozens of co-developers and partners are working with Grand Texas to provide additional developments and destinations.
Although its past may be humble, Grand Texas’ future is as bright as the Lone Star itself.
