Ask any seasoned RVer, and he or she will almost certainly tell you just how useful a roof vent can be. Fortunately, most RVs come out of the factory equipped with one of these handy little fans. However, some are missing this feature.
If your trailer or motorhome is one of the models that doesn’t come off the lot equipped with a roof vent, I highly recommend having one installed. Why? Well, because this simple, relatively inexpensive item can make an enormous difference in your life as an RVer, making it easier to enjoy the carefree camping you set out to do.
Here are the top three reasons every RV owner should invest in a roof vent fan.
#1: Rids the Space of Stale Air
You know that hot, stale air that tends to accumulate in a trailer or motorhome as it sits in storage? Perhaps you’re familiar with the heavy, still air created while you are away hiking? The vent fan is the perfect way to get the air in an RV moving again and pull bad smells and stale air out of the camper while bringing fresh air in.
#2: Creates a Cooling Current
If you’ve ever tried camping in the summer without electricity, you know how stiflingly hot it can get in an RV. While covering the windows, parking in the shade, and drinking plenty of water all help keep you cool, a vent fan is by far the most useful way to cool down an extremely hot trailer or motorhome.
The powerful little fan does this by pushing hot air up and out of the trailer and pulling new air in through an open window. This creates a current that runs through the camper, cooling it down as it goes.
#3: Dries Out Wet Spaces
Whether you’re dealing with a rainstorm or hanging up swimsuits after a day in the lake, you are bound to deal with plenty of wet situations in an RV. Unfortunately, those wet clothes you hang in the shower to dry are probably going to make your tiny camper bathroom feel pretty muggy and humid.
Luckily, a vent fan can solve this problem quickly and easily by sending moisture up and out through the roof and creating a nice breeze to help the wet items dry more quickly.
As you can see, a roof vent fan is the perfect RV accessory. It is useful in a variety of situations, and makes RV life even better than it is already.
