Tips for Creating The Ideal Outdoor Living Space
RVs are amazing. After all, how many people can say they take an entire house with them wherever they go? That said, spending extended amounts of time in an RV can get old pretty fast. Very few motorhomes and travel trailers are large enough to provide adequate space for their occupants to feel comfortable 24 hours a day. Therefore, it is important that all RVers have an awesome outdoor living space to spend time in.

What defines an awesome outdoor living space? Well, one that makes you comfortable of course! Not sure where to begin building your living room in the great outdoors? No problem!

Below we have compiled a list of things you may want to collect in order to begin making your campsite feel like home. Of course, you may want to add things here and there as you learn what you need, but this is a great basic list that can help get new RVers started in the world of outdoor living.

Rug — Let’s start from the ground and work our way up. Protected feet are happy feet. Unfortunately, the ground on your campsite is probably going to be rocky, sandy, muddy, or some combination of the three. An outdoor rug can help keep your feet comfortable and your campsite clean while also defining your space.

Chairs — Of course, you’re going to want somewhere comfortable to sit while hanging out around the campfire. Fortunately, good quality camping chairs are incredibly inexpensive, and since they’re so light and compact, you won’t mind giving them a home in your RV.

Ice Chest — Staying hydrated is incredibly important while camping. That said, opening the RV fridge multiple times throughout a hot summer day is a surefire way to decrease its efficiency. Instead of risking your food going bad, consider getting a well-made cooler to keep bottles of water and other beverages in. Not only will this help keep the fridge cool, it will also make it easier to grab a cold one whenever the need arises.

Tablecloth and Clamps — Most campsites come with a picnic table. (If yours doesn’t, consider investing in a folding table of your own.) However, using a dirty table for eating purposes doesn’t seem very sanitary. By using a cute, reusable tablecloth and a set of table cloth clamps, you can ensure your eating surface is nice and clean before each and every meal.

Lighting — When you’re spending time away from the city, things can get pretty dark after the sun goes down. For this reason, you are definitely going to want some sort of lighting on your campsite. While many RVers choose to use the exterior light built into their rig, it can be fun to put up a string of lights and add some color to the campground instead.

Awning or Canopy — If trees cover is limited in a particular campground, you will want to have some other source of shade. This is where your RV awning comes in handy. Don’t have an awning? You may want to invest in a pop-up canopy instead. This will help you avoid sunburn and stay cool during the hot summer days.

With these simple items, you can easily put together a campsite fit for a king, something that is sure to help you relax as you enjoy the great outdoors.
