The Wandering Jews in Sebastian Florida
When visiting here, try not to be one of the “six old grouches”. This is a lovely community on Florida’s east coast just north of Vero Beach. We stayed at Vero Beach Kamp located just south of the city limits of Sebastian on US Hwy 1. It sports over 125 sites with full hookups, cable TV, free WIFI and a nice swimming pool. Great for families.

The area has many great restaurants, some of the “locals” variety and some widely known. Our favorites in the area include Sebastian’s Roadside Restaurant for home-style cooking and wickedly good homemade desserts and Mo-Bay Grill, a mix of Jamaican & local style dishes. Mulligans is also on the water and offers hip atmosphere and good food.

If you are looking for things to do, Mel Fisher’s Treasure Museum is located in town. If you are a thrill seeker, I am told that this is the place to sky dive. On your way down from the perfectly good plane you jumped from, you will be able to see both the east coast and the west coast of Florida. I prefer to drive to the coasts to see them from a different perspective. Fishing, Cruising, Sailing, Fly Boarding, Canoeing, Kayaking, Parasailing, Kite boarding and my favorite: sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in can all be done in the area.

Enjoy life, but avoid the six old grouches, if possible.

In 2009 we started RVing. We had never towed anything, but we were undaunted and set out on our first trip, which lasted 4-1/2 months. We left from our home in sunny south Florida to visit one of our daughters in San Francisco, CA. Along the way, we stayed in 41 different RV parks, we learned a lot about RVing, and we visited 18 National Parks and discovered that we really liked RVing. We found that for us “home is where you park it”.
