The Foodies Arrive in the Big Easy.
The Wandering Jews are now staying in New Orleans, the home of great jazz and great food. We are staying at Pontchartrain Landing, a waterfront RV Park in Orleans Parish, New Orleans. The park has 150 sites, cabins and a small marina with direct access to Lake Pontchartrain with tons of RV Services near me and a nice restaurant/bar with live entertainment.

Speaking of food (one of my favorite subjects) I remembered a fine restaurant in the Garden District that I had visited nearly twenty years ago. The Upperline Restaurant is off the main streets at 1413 Upperline Street, but is a real find. We had a three-course dinner that began with Spicy Shrimp and Crispy P&J Oysters (Sheila loves oysters). The main courses were Veal Grillades and Slow Roasted Half Duckling with Ginger Peach Sauce. Topping off this excellent meal was Crème Brule and Pecan Pie. Unbelievable!

JoAnn Clevenger, the owner, greets all guests and engages them in interesting conversation. She shared with us that “restaurant” equals “restorative”. This is the dining experience she shares with her guests. This restaurant is a “don’t miss” dining experience.

Of course, New Orleans is also the place for great jazz and we attended a concert of local jazz a Louis Armstrong park. Great music and great people watching! New Orleans survives. Put it on your list.

Happy travels…

In 2009 we started RVing. We had never towed anything, but we were undaunted and set out on our first trip, which lasted 4-1/2 months. We left from our home in sunny south Florida to visit one of our daughters in San Francisco, CA. Along the way, we stayed in 41 different RV parks, we learned a lot about RVing, and we visited 18 National Parks and discovered that we really liked RVing. We found that for us “home is where you park it”.
