Tax Time-Time to Upgrade Your Coach
02-01-2016

Its tax time again and for a lot of us that means a nice little refund to spend. What a better way to spend that money then to make some much needed upgrades on your coach? There are new items added to the ever changing RV market all the time. RV shows are happening and all the latest items are at your disposal for what may even be cheaper prices. My warning to all consumers…make sure you do your research to avoid impulse buys and get your coach in tip top shape for the New Year. Here are some of the upgrades to consider.
Solar Panels
Solar Panels have become increasingly popular over the past few years. It is a good way to maintain your batteries while camping. They will not recharge your coach, but they will prolong your battery life. If you are interested in using solar power, it is best to consult a certified shop and ask them to explain all the pros and cons. Then you can make an educated determination as to whether solar power is for you.
Safe-T-Plus
As anyone who has driven an RV knows, it is not the easiest of beasts to control. When winds pick up or roads get rough the Safe-T-Plus system will help control that feeling of over steering. They are reasonably priced and can be ordered relatively quickly. The improvement you will see is worth every penny.
Camera System
One of the biggest problems when driving a large RV or trailer is visibility. Adding a dash camera system is not only smart, but it is also easy to set up. There are a variety of types from fancy wireless units to your basic one camera systems. Not only will this upgrade keep you from the minor accidents that can happen with poor visibility, but they can also be used as an anti-theft device. Other than having that big German Shepard in your front passenger seat, an active camera system is sure to keep the thieves away.
Tankless Water Heater
Switching your coach to a tankless water heating system is one of the best upgrades you can make, in my opinion. The water is heated as you use it so you never run out of the hot water. When shopping for this upgrade, you never also don’t need to worry about tank space because there is no tank.
As last year comes to an end and Uncle Sam sends you that refund check you have been waiting on, now is the time to upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. There are so many different things you can add to your coach or change just slightly to make your home on wheels more comfortable. It is best to do some research like attending an RV Show and making sure to hit up the vendors that are usually stuck at the very end of the show to see what the latest and greatest items are. Make some phone calls and ask lots of questions from your local RV shop. The service department can give you many ideas to open your eyes to all of the new opportunities for all kinds of upgrades. I also always encourage my customers to join RV blogs and get to know others in the RV community. Having this contact will help you understand what’s out there and help you rule out which of these new upgrades are best for you. Happy trails!
