The RV industry is at an all-time high for sales, which means more and more Americans are leaving the comfort of home, to venture out and explore this great country in an RV. One of the many benefits to RV ownership that many overlook is the fact that you have the opportunity to take your pet along for the ride. This provides more opportunities to travel, without having to board or find shelter for your pet.
According to the Humane Society of the United States, pet ownership in the U.S. has more than tripled since the 1970s, when about 67 million households had pets. Whereas in 2012, it was estimated that approximately 164 million households had pets. In other words, a lot of Americans have pets!
With this many pets out there, it makes sense that a lot of us would look to vacation with your RV. You essentially get to take your home with you, giving you the ability to have who you want along for the ride, without having to check to see if the hotel you wanted to stay at was “pet friendly.”
Having your pets along for your RV adventures can seriously enhance your experience. However there are some things you should do and know before loading up your pet into your RV for the open road.
