When you live in your RV, you sometimes find yourself in unfamiliar areas. You may have to make an unexpected stop due to inclement weather or you may be in route to your winter destination. Even if you have arrived at your seasonal location, you might be looking for something different to do to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Here are a few suggestions ranging from adventurous to low-key so you can find the perfect option for your end of year activity.

Check Out the Local Clubs
There are several ways to find a club or musical venue to visit. Do a quick google search or better yet, check out YELP to find ones in your area that meet your preferences. Many of them will have New Year’s Eve festivities with special prices and offers. They often offer free or low-priced rides to ensure patrons get back home safely at the end of the night. YELP can help you find some of the most popular and highest rated clubs in the area.
Dinner and a Movie Date
Many big-budget movies are released over the holidays because there is a high demand for them when schools aren’t in session. New Year’s Eve is a great time to go to dinner and a movie. Restaurants and theaters aren’t typically as busy as they are on other evenings meaning you can likely get in without reservations or a long wait.
Attend a New Year’s Party
Check at the main office at the campground where you’re staying. Often, if the park has a club house, they’ll have a New Year’s Eve party. If they don’t, they may have information regarding which campers may be planning a holiday get-together. This would be a great way to meet your neighbors, as well.
Throw a New Year’s Party
If there aren’t any parties already planned, you can always decide to throw one yourself. With a few, easy-to-make party treats, a bit of music or a few games, and perhaps your favorite (ahem) beverage, you can totally bring the campground together for some festive fun. Ask a few of your closest neighbors to contribute a dish or drink to keep costs down.
Cook a Gourmet Meal
Perhaps big gatherings aren’t your thing. New Year’s Eve is a great time to cook that fancy meal you’ve been craving. Spend the days before looking up recipes and shopping for ingredients. Light some candles, open a bottle of wine or sparkling cider, and enjoy chopping and sautéing as a single, a couple, or a family.
New Year’s Countdown at Home
There are always lots of New Year’s Eve countdowns on network television. Just make some appetizers, pop some popcorn, put on your PJs, and enjoy! If your campground doesn’t have cable and you don’t have a satellite dish, grab your favorite movies or stream them on Netflix or Hulu. Nothing can be more low-key than that.
Get Started on Your New Year’s Resolutions
Perhaps you would prefer to get a head start on the New Year. Spend the evening writing down your resolutions, as well as a comprehensive plan on how to accomplish them. Depending on what they are, you may even be able to get started right away.

In Conclusion
New Year’s Eve marks the end of one year and the beginning of the next. How you choose to celebrate it is a highly individual decision. Whether it consists of a night on the town, the party of the year, or an evening of personal contemplation, make sure that you are spending this holiday like you spend the rest of the year—on your terms.
