Must Have RV Board Games for Traveling

Board games in the RV are an absolute MUST! Even if you do spend all your days exploring and adventuring in the outside, at some point you will want to wind down and relax. Nothing says family fun like a board game!
Because we have spent a good portion of our summer in Florida where summer storms happen nearly every day, I know firsthand what it feels like to be stuck inside while RVing. Fortunately, I also know that these days don’t have to be a total bummer. In fact, with the right attitude and just a bit of preparation, a rainy day in an RV can quickly become a fun family bonding experience.
One of my favorite things to do when we are stuck in our RV due to poor weather conditions is break out the games. However, because we live in such a small space, we don't have a ton of room for game storage. For this reason, we have had to find games that are both compact and tons of fun.
Here are 3 of our favorite games that are easy to store and a blast to play.
Set
This is, hands down, my favorite game of all time. It is a fast-paced card game that tests your pattern-recognition skills. One round of this game can be played in only a few minutes, making it perfect for filling small amounts of time, but it is also fun enough to play for an hour or more.
Set comes packed in a small box that is no bigger than a couple decks of cards, making it incredibly easy to tuck away in a cabinet.
Pick-Up Stix
If you’ve never played a game of Pick-Up Sticks, you are in for a treat. This silly game requires players to have a steady hands and an excellent eye for opportunity. It is the ideal game for small spaces, and is good for a wide range of ages. Pick-Up Sticks is stored in a small tube that can be easily hidden away in a drawer or cabinet.
Eye Found It! Card Games
This simple card game is the perfect distraction on a rainy day. It’s especially great for the younger set, but can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The amusing game takes the classic “I Spy” books and turns them into family bonding experience you are sure to love. This game is the size of a deck of cards, making it the smallest game on this list. However, there is a bulkier board game version as well, so be sure you purchase the smaller version for your RV.

By investing in these inexpensive games, you will be well on your way to having a great rainy-day backup plan for your RV vacations. Throw in a classic checkers board and a deck of regular playing cards, and you’ll have hours of entertainment stored away without cluttering the small amount of storage space you have.

Another great game I found to play with our granddaughter is "Spot It, Jr! Animals." It's a card game with 3 1/2 inch circular cards and all of the cards are dealt, with the last card turned over in the middle of the table. All the cards have 6 different animal pictures on them in different sizes and great colors. The players turn over their top card on their pile and try to find a match to one of the animals on the turned over card, and then put their card on top of the pile in the middle of the table, and shout out the animal that's matched. It's a fast game that's a lot of fun and can be played in a few minutes. We always play several games and laugh a lot because my granddaughter usually goes through all of her cards and I'm still sitting with my pile of cards in front of me. I'm usually the one asking for a rematch to try to win but she is usually the winner! We've played this in our rv, a hotel room, and at home.
