Making Room to Breath While Living in an RV
Living in an RV means living in tight quarters. Many people are amazed that we can do this without going crazy, and honestly, sometimes I feel the exact same way. After all, five-year-old little boys aren’t exactly calm and quiet creatures, and sometimes we do start to feel pretty cooped up.

That said, there are a few secrets to making your RV living space feel bigger. This in turn helps you to feel less cramped, and keeps everyone in a good mood despite the small space.

Below are my top 4 tips for making your RV space feel more roomy.

Tip #1: Minimize Your Stuff

The most effective way to make more room in an RV is to get rid of stuff that is filling your space. By creating a capsule wardrobe, getting rid of unused or duplicate items, and making the switch to digital video, music, and books, you can free up quite a bit of space, something that makes your RV look and feel much larger.

Tip #2: Remove Excess Furniture

Most RVs come from the factory with built-in furniture. However, if you don’t use all of that furniture, there's really no reason to keep it. In fact, keeping it around only takes up space you could be using for other things. Therefore, if you don’t use the couch, table, or a particular bed, consider removing it entirely and opening up your living space.

Tip #3: Head Outside

Sure, the inside of an RV is small, but there is absolutely no reason you have to remain inside all the time. Many RVers set up incredibly comfortable outdoor living spaces which they use as an escape from the confines of their motorhome or travel trailer. By setting up an awning, a couple of chairs, and a small table, you can create a simple yet functional space that you will love spending time in.

Tip #4: Make Use of Tents

If your outdoors living space isn’t quite enough to keep you content, you may consider setting up a tent as well. Tents make great playspaces for children and can be used to store toys and/or other items, saving space in the rig. They are also great places to escape from the family for a bit and spend some time alone reading or watching your favorite show.

By using these simple tips and tricks, you can make your small living space feel bigger and brighter and reduce any symptoms of cabin fever that you may be feeling. Having this option makes it much more fun to hit the road and explore the world.
