It’s Festival Time-Let the Music Play
Every year as the spring weather sets in, hundreds of thousands of people gather for some of the best music festivals in the world. They began years ago known as “rock festivals” in the 1960s are now held across the United States with a variety of themes and even bigger variety of music genres. Having attended several of these festivals, I have seen firsthand just how convenient it is to have your RV or trailer out at the festival. Having a private bathroom alone is just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to practicality at a weekend long concert.

What to Bring With You
Before you set out on your weekend adventure you will need to pack a few important things. Most importantly, remember your tickets. Some festivals have the capability to scan tickets via cell phone, but it is a great idea to have them on paper to assure you get in the gate. Anything that you do not have pre-packed in your coach should be bought before you head out to your campsite. Bug spray, sunscreen, water, and food can usually be purchased at the event but the cost is usually extremely high. I recommend having extra necessities on hand if you do not have a tow vehicle. You will not be able leave the site and return in your coach in most cases due to parking restrictions. Be sure to pack folding chairs and other outdoor furniture. When the music ends you will have a nice spot to hang out with other campers and enjoy the incredible atmosphere.

Reserve Your Spot
There is typically a limited amount of space for overnight camping. I recommend calling ahead to see what the event staff allow onsite when camping out. You may be required to purchase a VIP pass for any vehicle over a certain length. Some festivals have a nightly fee plus the cost of tickets that will need to be paid well in advance of the event. There are some festivals that offer RV rental onsite. These go rather quickly and should be reserved ASAP. When reserving your rental be sure to ask if the coach is stocked with bedding, towels, dishes, etc. This allows you to pack accordingly.
