HOW IT ALL BEGAN - Living the Dream

On March 14, 2015, the anniversary of my youngest son's death, 33 years before, I awoke to find my little Pomeranian, Angel dead on the floor next to my bed. I was immediately devastated seeing her lying there, knowing she had tried to get to me as she was likely having a heart attack.
My roommate/landlord happened to be in town and in my hysteria, I knocked on his door crying and telling him that Angel was dead. He came out and said he was sorry, but he really didn't know what to do with me as I kneeled over Angel crying hysterically.
I picked her up and wrapped her in her blanket and laid her on my bed and began calling my friends, Denise and Roxy, who could actually help me. My roommate went back to bed. Denise came to pick me up to take Angel and me to the special place where we planned to bury her. It was not a good idea for me to drive a car in my state of emotion.
By the time we got there, Roxy had already dug the hole for Angel's resting place. I buried her with her bed and blanket as I had my other little Pom, Prince, 2 years ago and we placed her right next to him.
As the pain of this loss was more than I had expected, I wondered why this had happened to me, as I believe most people would, in this situation. But, I knew that there was a reason and that this painful situation would bring something better into my life.
Of course I could not figure out what good could possibly come out of it at the time, but I was determined to find out and to know that it would. And I was determined that something amazing was going to come out of this horribly painful situation.
