Heading to South Carolina

So our time in Florida ended too quickly. Time to hit the road again for the year. We left with some sadness for the friends and family staying behind but also with some excitement for the amazing year we have to look forward to. Our first stop is Greenville SC to work with Travelers Rest KOA and to see our son, daughter in law, and two grandbabies.
The Travelers Rest KOA is run by a family from Texas who really understand how to make a campground special. This is a smaller KOA but they make it feel like a top end resort. Most of the park spaces back up to a lovely creek and are surrounded by large trees. There are cabins with covered porches facing the creek, a pool area, and my favorite which is the nature trails. Everything is super clean and very maintained which I love to see as it shows how much they care.
We are also super excited that in two more months we will be heading back to Alaska but before that we get to go to Moab for the 50th Easter Jeep Safari, Houston to see many friends and new faces during the Southeast Publications yearly meeting, to Grand Junction/Fruita to work and play, to Curt Gowdy SP to mountain bike, to WY which I love, and then up through Montana and Canada on the way to Alaska. We are very blessed to have such a great life!

How Bad is the Drive to Alaska?
Alaska Blog Post 8-26-15
We are now in day 3 of our 24 Day Challenge. So far the hardest part has been to snack enough and to stay away from the sweets. Day 1 was when we drove from Florida to South Carolina which was difficult. We have gotten into the bad habit on long travel days to grab fast food during our fuel up stop. To combat this I had picked up some low sodium turkey breast and low fat colby cheese that we rolled into bread-less sandwiches to eat while moving. The meal alternatives that came with the challenge made the other meals easy and tasty. We do need to pick up a scale to go with the before pics we took of ourselves (which really brought home how much we had spread with age ).Comment
