Got to Have It Gadgets 2016
05-05-2016

Every year RV/Trailers evolve to fit our thirst for the latest and greatest inventions. Rather it is the newest television or the newest awning on the market things are constantly changing. If you have an older coach, you can still keep up with the Jones by having some of these new gadgets installed or picking them up at your local parts store. Here are a list of gadgets that I think are worth the time and money.
Solar Systems
Solar panels have been around for some time, but with the addition of a few new items by Go Power you can do a lot more than you thought was possible. The complete system comes with a Pure Sine inverter that will take 12-volt DC power from your RV batteries and changes it to 120-volt AC. It is recommended that you also have four 6-volt batteries to keep your battery bank at 400 amp hours. With this set-up you can: boondock and still run appliances without running down your batteries; use less fuel thus causing less harm to the environment; and keep the noise of a generator down after dark.
Solar Cell Phone?
I am sure you are thinking, “Yeah right, a solar powered cell phone?” In this case you are correct; the phone is not solar powered. However, the phone charger is solar powered. The Solio Bolt is an incredible little gadget. You can set it on your dash and charge your phone, laptop, I-Pod, or even your child’s handheld game system. For all of the teenagers out there this is the “best invention EVER!” It is fairly inexpensive and is well worth the expense.
Wi-Fi & Satellite in One
Dish Net has recently come out with a new receiver called “The Wally by Dish” and it has been growing very popular. This device will allow you to watch HD television and stream video to your television via a built in Wi-Fi adapter. It is also Bluetooth capable and has Netflix and other apps available. You can even hide the receiver in your RV because it has an RF remote that can be used throughout the coach. It is also DVR capable if you connect an external hard drive.
The Trip Maker
The RVND 7710 GPS system made by Rand McNally and is similar to having a tour guide and a mechanic along with you on your next road trip. This gadget will not only help you pick a route but it will direct you to the roads that are the proper conditions for your vehicle’s weight. With the “Best of the Road” option you will be directed toward interesting landmarks that will create an exciting adventure for you and your family. Your trips are mapped out and you are given options to go over checklists before and during your travels.
With all of these and all the other new inventions out there, you are sure to find something that appeal to you. Always do the research to make sure that the item you will be purchasing has good reviews. Check in regularly with MobileRving.com frequently to see what is new in the RV world and the Jones will have nothing on you. Happy trails!
