Gear for RVing with Baby

Everyone loves RVing. Even the youngest campers enjoy spending time in the great outdoors and seeing the country from the comfort of a motorhome or travel trailer. That said, a large number of parents are hesitant to take their little ones on RV camping trips. These individuals believe their trips will be made much more difficult by the new addition.

While this is true to an extent, the challenge isn’t anything a well prepared parent can’t handle, and the reward is an opportunity to make some amazing memories with your baby or toddler. This is a reward that is well worth the extra effort and then some!

So how do you go in well prepared? To begin with, you will need to make sure you have the right attitude. By understanding that babies aren’t always the most cooperative people, you can avoid being disappointed when something doesn't go as planned.

The other important thing you can do in advance to help yourself out is to pack properly. With the right gear, your first camping trip with baby will be an absolute breeze, and you’ll be itching to head out again before you know it.

Here are three items that I believe are absolutely perfect for RVing parents with babies and toddlers:

#1: Summer Infant Pop and Sit Highchair

Relaxing in the great outdoors is a huge part of camping. That said, a small baby will have a rough time trying to hang out in a traditional camping chair. Instead of expecting them to make due with furniture made for adults, why not invest in a folding camp-style chair just for them?

The Summer Infant Pop and Sit Highchair is an RVing parent’s dream come true. This nifty piece of baby gear folds up and fits into a carrying bag just like any normal camping chair. However, when unfolded, the seat becomes a high chair, complete with a tray for food.

This is the perfect option for keeping baby comfortable while you tend to the fire or grill up some burgers.

#2: Graco Travel Lite Crib

Little ones who aren’t quite big enough to sleep in the RV beds will need some sort of crib. Fortunately, the Graco Travel Lite Crib fills this need quite nicely.

When not in use, the crib folds up into a compact rectangular shape and fits into a nifty carrying case. However, when unfolded, it creates a smaller-than-average travel bed that is just perfect for a small RV space. Not only that, but the bed can also be used as a playard during outside time, making it an amazing multi-tool that all RVing parents simply must invest in.

#3: Deuter Kid Comfort 2 Hiking Baby Carrier

Whether you’re planning a 5-mile hike or a trip to the campground pool, your baby will need a way to get there. Considering the fact that babies can’t walk and toddler’s little legs tend to tire quickly, the Deuter Kid Comfort 2 Hiking Baby Carrier is an amazing item to have on hand. Simply put your little guy or girl in the padded seat and don this lightweight backpack for a trek that is comfortable and ergonomic for both you and your baby.

By investing in these items and taking on the right mindset, you can rest easy knowing you and your little one are going to have an amazing time exploring the world together.
