Full Steam Ahead - Buying an RV
So now it was full steam ahead to find the perfect and affordable RV. And the search began. I had started reading some books about full time RVing but did not know how to find my ideal new home. Only one of my children, who was not only supportive but excited and helpful, Tyler, began to help me. He loves a challenge and started looking for an RV for me in California from his home in North Carolina. We both started looking and daily, Tyler would send me links to RVs all over Southern California. I applied for a loan through my credit union and was approved. But the parameters were likely not going to allow me to buy what I wanted. I spent one whole weekend driving from Santa Barbara to Orange County looking at RV dealerships and RVs being privately sold. The first rig I saw was at the Conejo RV dealership. It was a 2013 27ft Fleetwood Tioga and I loved it! It was exactly what I wanted but it was way more than I thought I could afford and I figured I should explore all possibilities. However, because this was my ideal rig and they felt they could get me financing for it, I decided to go ahead and apply for the loan just in case. I looked at about 8 other RVs that weekend but nothing compared to the one I really wanted. They said they should know by Monday if I had been approved or not.

On Monday I received a call from the finance department saying I had been declined the loan. I had been reviewing a book called, “Your Invisible Power” by Genevieve Behrend. In her book one of the most powerful statement or affirmations she used in her own life was, "I decline to be discouraged." It is a very inspiring book about her life and how she achieved the impossible or what was perceived to be impossible. I took her affirmation to heart and posted it around my house, car and workplace for the time being. Not only was it tremendously helpful but it seemed to flow to those around me as well in lending me support. When I was turned down for the loan, I immediately got a call from the salesman at the dealership telling me not to be discouraged because he had another option for me and was forwarding my loan application to a local credit union. And even Tyler, who had the tendency to be negative about life, was extremely positive and would constantly remind me that everything was going to work out. It was the first time I realized that I had finally surrendered to the Divine Essence and I now trusted that I am taken care of and because of this, everything was working out perfectly in my life. I was aligned with the purpose and flow of my life. For the first time in a long time, I KNEW everything was going to work out for me. On Thursday I got the call from the credit union that my loan for the RV was approved and when would I like to come sign the papers and then go pick up my new RV or in my words, my new home! I was so excited I could hardly stand it! Not only had my loan been approved but I was able to trade in my old car that was at a very high interest rate. I was upside down on the loan and it was a 15 year loan so my payments were very low for what I was getting and way cheaper than the rent I had been paying…and I would always have a home.

On Saturday May 2nd, 2015 I picked my new home up from Conejo RV and immediately drove it over to see my triplet grandkids, who were rehearsing for a play, to show it to them. My dream was coming true and now all I had to do was get through one more week of work, sell all my stuff, pack up the RV, and hit the road! Woohoo, I was so excited!
