Finding the Fun While RVing
Depending on how you RV, you may not always get to choose your destination. Maybe you travel for work and have to go wherever the boss tells you, or perhaps you need to stick to a certain campground system. Whatever the reason, being unable to pick and choose where you go can leave you in some pretty obscure places.

Many people dread ending up in small, unheard-of towns. Honestly though, this is just too bad. No matter where your travels take you, there’s always something fun to see or do. The trick is knowing how to find those things.

Want to know how to find the fun wherever you are? Read on to learn!

Find the Library

The first thing I recommend doing after you get settled in is to visit the library. Libraries are filled with endless entertainment options. Many will allow visitors to check out books, movies, music, and board games using a visitor’s card, and even those that don’t won’t have a problem with you sticking around to read.

Besides all that, libraries also host events open to the public. From storytimes and yoga classes to concerts and festivals, you never know what the local library might have going on.

Watch for Fliers

Another way to find fun in any town is to watch for fliers. When visiting the library, check out the bulletin board to see if any events are advertised there. Check out the local coffee shop, get a drink, and see if their community board includes info on local activities and performances. Even just keeping your eyes peeled in your campground or when out for a walk can lead to super fun discoveries.

Try New Foods

Almost every town has at least a couple of local eateries. Why not try them out? My family loves checking out the local fare wherever we travel, and in doing so, we’ve found some really fantastic gems. Go ahead and give it a try!

Head Outside

No matter where you roam, the great outdoors will always be there to awe and inspire. Find the city, county, and state parks near you and go exploring. This will allow you to get up close and personal with the natural beauty of a place, and a hike always does the soul good.

Ask the Locals

Whenever you want to know about a place, ask the locals. They live there after all, and they probably know what they’re talking about. Ask about local theater groups, the best restaurants around, and if there are any museums nearby. Cool things may be hidden in plain sight.

Make Day Trips

Finally, you must keep in mind that day trips are always an option. Even if you’re not right in the heart of a big city, being placed an hour or two outside of a major hub still allows for some awesome day trip experiences. Find the big cities around and try to plan a few trips into the hustle and bustle during your visit.

These simple tips will likely give you plenty to see and do even in the tiniest of towns. Next time you’re sent somewhere less than exciting, give these ideas a try and see what you think!
