4.Explore the Delaware Water Gap for outdoor swimming
The 70,000 acres of Delaware Water Gap lie between the state borders of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It’s a National Recreational Area with an impressive chunk of Delaware River and two visitor’s centers that provides geographical, historical and recreational information of the area. The area has exciting activities like fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking canoeing, rock climbing and natural swimming. The trails marked with red dots lead the hiker to the Kittatinny Ridge providing amazing views. It’s also a great place to enjoy an RV long stay as you explore different activities in the area.
5. Check out the USS New Jersey for a historical adventure tour
Military buffs will want to check this out. The USS New Jersey, America’s largest and most decorated battleship, is a floating behemoth turned into a museum located on the Delaware River. Visit to the ship will include a guided tour that allows viewing of artefacts, exhibits and documents relating to the vessel's rich history.
6. Visit the Safari Off-road Adventure and feed giraffes
Located in Jackson Township, the Safari Off-road adventure boasts of 1200 animals from different continents. From giraffes to tigers, rhinos to elephants and lions, the park lies in a 350-acre preserved area. Do some exploration at Frontier Adventure filled with different artefacts from global expeditions. Enjoy close moments with the animals as they climb hills, splash through ponds and venture into their rugged terrains.
Stop at Camp Aventura for an off-road excursion that includes zip lining, feeding the giraffes, viewing unusual reptiles and exotic birds.
7. Check out Sea Pirate Campground for Bingo Nights
The Sea Pirate Campground provides great adventures and makes the perfect home for RVing. It’s a campground with loads for activities for all ages. During the summer season, the camp holds lots of events like bingo nights, movies, arts and craft. Each week, the Sea Pirates come up with a unique theme to capture the season. Along with offering kayaking and biking rentals, they also have a beautiful pool, hayrides, fun playground and an arcade.
8. See the cherry blossoms
The Branch Brook Park, located in Newark, has over 5,000 trees and 18 different varieties of cherry trees. Don’t miss out on the Cherry Blossom Festival held every April. Apart from the cherry trees, the park has other exciting things like gates, bridges, buildings and sculptures uniquely designed to capture the beauty of the park.
9. Shop at the Berlin Farmers Market and enjoy discounted prices
The Berlin Farmers Market opened its door in 1940, providing the best flea bargains in the area. It has over 85 stores and 700 stalls selling everything from fruits to artefacts, clothes to designer labels and yummy treats.
