Easy DIY Headboards for the RV
From fireplaces that really heat to LED lighting around every corner, modern RVs really have a lot of cool features. However, there are some things that are still missing in the majority of the motorhomes and travel trailers out there. One of these things is a headboard at the head of the master bed.

While a headboard is a minor thing, and is not really very functional, a lack of headboard can make a wall look pretty bare. For this reason, many people seek out ways to add headboards to their RV beds.

Are you looking to do the same? Here are a few of my favorite DIY RV headboard ideas.

#1: Chalkboard

For those who want an ever-changing bedroom wall, hanging a long chalkboard at the head of the bed is a wonderful idea. This creates the illusion of a headboard while also giving the RV owner a place to express themselves however they wish. Be sure to keep some colored chalk and an eraser nearby so you are ready whenever inspiration may strike.

#2: Bulletin Board

A more organized person might prefer a bulletin board hung over the bed. This faux headboard provides the user with a place to hang important notes, a calendar, and photos of family and friends. The board can be left blank or made pretty by covering it with fabric and criss-crossing ribbons over its surface.

#3: Pocket Pouch

If you find you are always needing more places to put small objects, and especially if your little home-on-wheels doesn't have bedside tables, a pocket pouch headboard is the solution for you. By creating a rectangular fabric headboard to hang above the bed and adding pockets wherever you see fit, you can fill the void on your bedroom wall while also creating more storage space.

#4: Mirror

Smaller RVs can often feel constricting. By hanging a few mirrors, you can create a bigger and more open feeling in the place. One of the best places to hang a mirror is over the bed. Simply grab a cheap and lightweight mirror from your local box store, and hang it sideways.

Clearly, a headboard can be made using almost any rectangular thing you can hang on a wall. This means there is an endless variety of possibilities just waiting for you. Use one of these ideas or get creative and come up with one of your own. Either way, you are sure to love the new look of your RV bedroom.
