Easter is Hop-Hop-Hopping upon Us
Yes fellow campers, spring has sprung and Easter is about a week away. The weather being a bit unpredictable lately may have you celebrating indoors and/or outdoors. Here are some fun and exciting ideas to get the Easter party goers hopping with excitement. In or out, the party will be as springing successful as you make it.

Take the Party Outside
If you are lucky enough to have clear skies and a gorgeously sunny day, take your party outside and enjoy all the fun that Easter brings. My first suggestion is simple and predictable, start an Easter egg hunt with all the children (and adults) in your campground. Have each family prepare a dozen plastic eggs filled with candy, toys, or even money. Hardboiled eggs can also be dyed and used if prepared the night before. In my family, we like to hide special eggs filled with confetti or flour to crack over someone’s head. To fill eggs simply cut a very small hole in both sides of the egg shell to blow out egg yolk and egg white. Next, fill eggs with flour or confetti and place a small sticker or piece of tape over the hole to keep contents inside. Just a few words of warning, only fill eggs partially because when they are smashed they will hurt the target if filled too much. Gather all of the eggs together in the morning and hide them in a closed off area until it is time for the hunt to begin. Watch out for those trick eggs!

The Spirit Shinning Through- Even Inside
If your weather does not permit the Easter egg hunt to end all Easter egg hunts, you can still have an enjoyable time inside with the whole family. Eggs can still be dyed and hidden, on a much smaller scale. Art projects are fun to do with younger age children. One of my favorites at Easter time is the Bunny Corsage. It is quite simple to do; all you will need is some artificial carnations and lilies; some google eyes; and a hot glue gun. You can find examples online if you aren’t as crafty as some and just follow the direction. If you are having a party with an older crowd, you can play Black Jack for jelly beans. We have such a great time sitting around the table enjoying each other’s company and eating jelly beans until we cannot eat anymore. Whatever you do and whomever you entertain there are plenty of ideas online to keep everyone involved.

Easter time is a time of celebration and family togetherness. Whether you are out on the road camping or living the full time RVer lifestyle; your celebration can be what you make of it. Traditions such as a ham dinners can still be prepared on a smaller scale and egg hunts can be done anywhere you find people willing to hunt. So get out there and have a blast. Invite the grandchildren out to the campground and have the bunny stop by with Easter baskets. Invite all of your retired buddies over for a jelly bean Black Jack tournament.

Have a Happy Easter and Happy Trails!
