Devils Tower area of Wyoming
If you have not visited the Devils Tower area of Wyoming you should really add it to your bucket list. We went out on Saturday and helped Gabe at the Diamond 7 Bar ranch check the new stock for runny eyes and noses. The beauty is impossible to describe but very soothing for the soul. This is our second year riding with this crew and we will be back next year as they provide great horses and scenery!

So I have a new favorite "toy". We went and picked up a bullet blender so I can now make smoothies. Each day I have been changing up the fruit and it has been a wonderful way to get something sweet without any processed sugar. Yesterday was bananas, strawberries, blackberries, and yogurt. Today was strawberries, bananas, and chocolate protein added to cover breakfast. We made a promise this year to increase our exercise and eat healthier, this should help.

So I happened to run into a gentleman in Hulett who gives private fly fishing lessons so I surprised Jim with an early Father's Day gift. I gave him an hour but Russ extended his lesson to over two hours and took Jim from putting everything together, to casting, to actually bringing in a trout. I see a stop at Cabela's in our future, Saturday (store in Calgary), to pick up a fly fishing pole and waders.

Like the rest of the country (except California) we spent the last week dodging rain drops. Yesterday the sun came out so Jim spent the day working on getting the outside of the rig ready for Alaska. We had to replace the controller for the slide out because water got into the compartment so he worked on getting that area water tight again. He also added a water repellent to the front windshield, hopefully helps the rain and the bugs.

Late this afternoon we had a brief but violent storm which packed hail and lighting, lost power for a short while but no major damage. Last year while here at Devils Tower KOA we had hail punch holes in the slide out covers so we have been joking that we were due for some hail. Hate it when you joke about something and it comes true.

Well only have a day and a half before we head to the Canadian border.....
