Gold! You scoff. No way! But I'll tell you how it is I figure it,
If you'll read my lines and rhymes, you'll see for yourself if it's a fit.
Oh sure it may take a little mining to see it from my point of view
But if you follow me, I think you'll see it as treasure too for you.
To begin I'll mention an attitude that seems to be worth knowing
It is very simply this, the secret of the going is in the going--
No matter where you're heading it's what you see along way
As well as destination, that really makes the journey pay.

Here as promised is where to find your true RVer's gold
It's on those bars in the middle of the road that I am sold;
For they keep me away from you, and you away from me
And let us go both directions as fast and far as we can see.

When I look back down all the roads I've rolled
I see all those broken yellow lines as bars of gold.
They are treasures that I gathered bright and free
Polished luster that grows in vaults of my memory
And though they can be neither bought nor sold
For as long as I cherish them I won't grow old.
Those gold bars are safe and can never be stolen from me
The millions in bullion I gathered while driving in my RV.

Here as promised is where to find your true RVer's gold
It's on those bars in the middle of the road that I am sold;
For they keep me away from you, and you away from me
And let us go both directions as fast and far as we can see.

You may be on your way to see your grand kids' smiles
As you roll along the sometimes long and lonely miles
Or to visit your parents and neighborhood of childhood
You keep returning as you have always hoped you could.
On down the road you roll to meet up with your group
Because you all collect rocks or were in the same war troop
Or perhaps down off beaten paths to visit with old friends
Journeys of the heart are on roads seemingly with out ends.

Here as promised is where to find your true RVer's gold
It's on those bars in the middle of the road that I am sold;
For they keep me away from you, and you away from me
And let us go both directions as fast and far as we can see.

You might be headed out to pay your last respects
Or to a class reunion and the many smiles it reflects;
Or you may be only on vacation for a week or two
With some carefully chosen destinations few.
At times the reason for the road down which you grin
Was chosen simply because on it you had never been.
You may go some where to fulfill some life long wish
or to get away alone somewhere just so you can fish.

Here as promised is where to find your true RVer's gold
It's on those bars in the middle of the road that I am sold;
For they keep me away from you, and you away from me
And let us go both directions as fast and far as we can see.

It's a sure thing you can't go in any direction very far
With out a new vista showing up beside you on the tar.
Endless hills and plains or snow capped mountain ranges
Deserts and lakes and canyons deep constantly rearranges
Continually changing views that go flashing or crawling by
No matter when the time we are going or the reason why.
Some times it's dry, others it is raining and snowing low
No wind is best but sometimes we barely go against the blow.

Here as promised is where to find your true RVer's gold
It's on those bars in the middle of the road that I am sold;
For they keep me away from you, and you away from me
And let us go both directions as fast and far as we can see.

There are hundreds of our treasures along the way to view
Parks, buildings, forts, monuments, many a historical venue;
Many natural wonders, one of a kind, found along the way
One or two for which you still don't have to admission pay.
Different foods to be tasted in every section of the land
New skills of recreation or chance at which to try your hand
No matter where for the night your brakes you set
It seems more gold is waiting, in new friends well met.

Here as promised is where to find your true RVer's gold
It's on those bars in the middle of the road that I am sold;
For they keep me away from you, and you away from me
And let us go both directions as fast and far as we can see.
