The holidays are upon us and I am giddy with excitement. I love this time of year. The lights, carols, and general feeling of joy in the air is just my style. Unfortunately, the holiday season also comes with some frustrations.
One of the biggest frustrations for my family is the gift-giving tradition. It’s not that we don't like giving and receiving gifts. I rather think the idea of giving loved ones something that brings them joy is quite nice. However, we live in less than 300 square feet, and getting a whole bunch of new stuff all at once can be difficult, to say the least.
For this reason, if you have a fulltime RVer in your life, I encourage you to shop thoughtfully this holiday season. Here are 7 items I know I would love:
One of the biggest frustrations for my family is the gift-giving tradition. It’s not that we don't like giving and receiving gifts. I rather think the idea of giving loved ones something that brings them joy is quite nice. However, we live in less than 300 square feet, and getting a whole bunch of new stuff all at once can be difficult, to say the least.
For this reason, if you have a fulltime RVer in your life, I encourage you to shop thoughtfully this holiday season. Here are 7 items I know I would love:
- Instant Pot Pressure Cooker — If your RVing friend does not yet have an Instant Pot, this is the gift for them. This multi-functional kitchen tool is the perfect addition to any RV kitchen. It cooks pretty much anything and doesn't heat up the camper. This is definitely a must-have for any fulltimer.
- Multi-Bit Screwdriver — When you live in an RV it seems like there is always something that needs unscrewing, tightening, or fixing. A multi-bit screwdriver gives a person the ability to deal with any kind of job without having to store a whole collection of screwdrivers.
- Collapsible Wagon — Schlepping laundry and other heavy items around a campground is no fun. Unfortunately, bringing a regular wagon along in your RV isn’t a great idea either. A collapsible wagon is perfect because it folds away nicely but is still able to carry most loads.
- Outdoor Rug — The amount of dirt that gets tracked into our RV on any given day is ridiculous. The best way to combat that dirt is by laying down an outdoor rug. Additionally, an outdoor rug makes for a nice outdoor living area where you can walk barefoot without any worries.
- Quick-Drying Towels — Hanging things to dry in a motorhome or travel trailer is almost a joke. Not only is there not much room to do so, but even when you can find space, things don't always dry properly due to high humidity. This is where quick-drying towels step in to save the day. Give your friend a set of these and they will be forever in your debt.
- Camping Membership(s) — One of the biggest expenses for a fulltime RVer is the cost of camping fees. Therefore, a pass or membership such as Passport America, Good Sams Club, Boondockers Welcome, Harvest Hosts, or Escapees is sure to be appreciated.
- Sightseeing Passes — If your RVing loved one enjoys seeing the sights as they travel, they will definitely make use of passes to various attractions. By purchasing a museum or zoo membership with reciprocal benefits, you give them access to a variety of attractions. A National Parks pass is also a great option.
I hope this list gave you some good ideas so you can start your shopping right away. Have fun, and happy holidays!

Gift Certificates to restaurants and movie theatres are great. Gift Certificate to RV Store is another great gift. And if their wanting you to come visit how about a gas card.
