Catching up on all the “Stuff”

We spent 5 weeks in our home dock, but in the end it still did not seem like enough time, where did it go?
I’ll tell you, but 1st understand that we are “On The Road” about 11 months out of the year…and loving it still after 4 years!
This is when we catch up on all the cleaning, repairs, etc. on the rig, which is both our Fifth Wheel and our Truck. Let’s see, the big thing this year was the roof repair/overcoat. We have a 2007 with a rubber roof, and when we bought it new they told us it was a lifetime roof… uh… NO…there were cracks, and black yuck, and peeling. We have a very trusted Detail Owner that cares for our rig when we are home, his crew did a fine tooth cleaning on the roof, and cared for all the cracks with caulking, as well as around all the fixtures, i.e. skylights, a/c, etc. Then came the coating, now this took a lot of research and phone calls to get just the right product to do the job; Henry’s 887, order online through Home Depot. This product went on real easy, and with 1ea 5 gallon container our detailers were able to put on 5 coats. Then came waxing of both the fifth wheel & truck, oh the truck is a new 2015 we just bought last December 2014, so all it needed was a regular checkup. The trailer also was cleaned on the inside, roof, windows, etc.
The other catching up was for ourselves, Doctor, & Dentist check-ups, including 1 colonoscopy, and a hernia surgery, all is okay now. And after renting our home out for 7 years, we finally just sold it; we’ll find a new one when we settle back down, whenever that is, somewhere near our children?? Celebrate the Holidays with Family, and put on a Family Reunion for another side of the family.
A lot of the maintenance done is something you want to stay on top of, for your Rig it can make it last longer, and it shows you have pride in it too, but don’t forget your own maintenance, keep yourself heathy, so you can last longer too!
