Boondocking...with a NEW Puppy!!

We have been on the road for some time now, and always with our beautiful Golden Retriever, Sandy. He is the epitome of the PERFECT Golden Retriever, as they are loving, sweet, and always ready to hit the road with us. This has been going on for almost 7 years now, so easy to take him anywhere, anytime, so we decided it was way too easy, so we just adopted a new PUPPY!
Joey is a miniature Dachshund, and boy is he a cutie, and what a pistol! Running, jumping, and keeping up with Sandy when it’s time to run after the tennis balls, and we thought we would have to buy smaller ones for this guy, since he was only 3.5 lbs. when we got him just over a month ago, but NOPE, he managed to fit a regular sized Tennis Ball in his mouth, well sort of!
So why would we mess up a well-oiled machine? I don’t know but here we go! The first 3 weeks was pretty sad in the fact that Sandy did not want anything to do with Joey, but finally he tries to play with the little guy, even though there is a 90 lb. difference!
Tug of war is kind of one sided, but the gentleness that our Sandy shows is so lovely to see! Potty Training has been hair puling, as all you Puppy Lovers out there know. Trying the potty pads, anticipating him needing to go out, EVERY HALF HOUR, and all the other tricks. But so far, 5 weeks into it, we are doing pretty well. Joey is now 8.2 lbs., and everyone is happy and well!
