Awesome RV Eats: 5 Grill Worthy Burgers for Memorial Day
Burgers and Memorial Day weekend go hand in hand. There’s just something about the first long weekend of summer that inspires grilling and chilling in front of your RV. Here are a few fantastic gourmet burger recipes to give your grilling a little extra sizzle.

Hawaiian Burger
Start with a nicely grilled beef burger brushed with a pineapple teriyaki glaze. Go ahead and grill some pineapple slices right along with it. When it comes time to put it all together, top your glazed patty with a slice of red onion, the grilled pineapple, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Top that with some deli ham (brown sugar or Virginia ham are divine). If you like mayonnaise, go ahead and put a smattering on the bun – but this burger can stand quite well on its own two feet.

Serious Smokehouse Beer Burger
When you are mixing up your beef for this burger add a little beer in the mix. Pop the patties on the grill and start caramelizing the onions – in beer. Once the elements are cooked, it’s time to assemble your burger. Add some barbecue sauce (whichever is your favorite – lately I’ve been crushing on Sweet Baby Ray’s, but you choose what moves you), your caramelized onions, and top with a thick slice of mild cheddar or Colby (Colby Jack is pretty nice too though).

Tasty Tex Mex Burger
Mix some Tex Mex or chipotle seasoning into your burger and massage a little on top before you put it on the grill. Butter the buns and pop them on the grill for a quick toast as well. Just before you remove the patties, top with cheddar cheese so it can get nice and melty. When you are ready to assemble your burger, put a nice dollop of guacamole on the bottom bun and place your patty on top of it. Top that with some spicy salsa. Adding some jalapeno peppers and a few slices of onion will perk it up even more.

Philly Cheese Steak Burger
Use a good steakhouse seasoning for your burger and add a little Worcestershire sauce when you are mixing up your meat. Once you have formed your patties, rub some Worcestershire sauce and steakhouse seasoning into them to give a real boost of flavor. While you are grilling the meat, sauté your green peppers and caramelize your onions (Texas sweet or Vidalia onions are really good with this). The key though is the smoked provolone cheese. Put it all on a toasted Kaiser roll. You’ll love the amazing flavor.

Spicy Buffalo Burger
These are great on pretzel buns and the flavor is pretty amazing. Heat up some butter and honey over medium heat on the stove. Add some buffalo sauce to the desired spiciness. You can use ground chicken, ground turkey, ground beef, or create a mixture for something really special. Brush your buffalo sauce, honey, butter mixture over the patties then pop them on the grill. When you are ready to assemble your burger, top with some red onion slices and blue cheese crumbles.
