Amazing Uses for Command Hooks and Strips in Your RV

If you spend much time in your RV at all, you’ve probably noticed that there never seems to be enough storage space. This is a problem that quickly leads to clutter, and clutter is never a fun thing to deal with. Therefore, whether you’re using your RV for weekend trips, long vacations, or as a home, you’ll probably want to find some good storage solutions sooner rather than later.

Fortunately, other RVers have come up with tons of amazing storage solutions. These solutions range from incredibly clever to seemingly ridiculous, but all of them serve their purpose and that’s what really matters.

One of the very best and simplest storage solutions out there comes in the form of a super simple item found in most box stores. Scotch Command Hooks and Strips are an absolute lifesaver for those who need to find extra room in the tiny space of a travel trailer or motorhome. They are easy to mount, can be removed without damaging your rig, and don’t require drilling, meaning you won't accidentally drill into electrical wiring.

Wondering what you could be using these incredibly handy little hangers for? Read on!

Shoe Storage

Yep! You read that right. Command Hooks actually make for an amazing shoe storage solution. Just hang a few of the larger hooks on the wall near your door and use them to hang flip-flops, sandals, or Crocs. Depending on the size and weight of your shoes, you may even be able to hang your tennis shoes on these handy hooks.

Towel Hangers

It's no secret that towel-hanging space is at a premium in RVs. Some people solve this issue with tension rods. Others use over-the-door hangers.

While we don't have any problem with either of these options, Command Hooks work just as well, are a less space-consuming than tension rods, and don't damage doors the way over-the-door hooks tend to.

Trash Solution

Finding a place to keep a trash can in a smaller motorhome or trailer can be frustrating. Most trash cans are too large to fit in little RV cabinets, and even some of the smaller ones are simply the wrong shape.

This can all be solved with a couple of Command Hooks. Simply add a couple of these handy hooks to the inside of a cabinet door and use them to hold a shopping bag for trash.

Knife Holder

Having little to no counter space means a knife block is out of the question. However, nobody wants to keep their sharp knives in the silverware drawer where they could easily cut an unsuspecting person. Many travelers choose to use magnetic knife racks for this purpose. However, these don't always hold our knives as well as we would like. Command Strips are a safer and more reliable option.

Place one strip on the knife you wish to hang and another on the wall or inside of a cabinet. Push the two strips together to hang your knife and pull them apart when you need to use it.

Mounting Option

Another awesome way to use Command Strips is for mounting purposes. Phones, hotspots, and cell boosters have a tendency to get in the way.

Get them up and out of your hair by mounting them to the wall using Command Strips. This will allow you to move these items when needed while still giving them a specific and out-of-the-way place to live.

Stuffed Animal Rack

If you have kids, it's likely that they have way too many stuffed animals. These are notorious for getting in the way, and have likely annoyed you more than once. Let your littles keep their stuffies while still keeping your sanity by employing the ever useful Command hook.

Simply hang two of the hooks side-by-side and hang the animal by its arms or legs from the hooks. Hang as many hooks as necessary near your child's bed and you'll be good to go!

Key Keeper

If you're camping in your RV it's pretty likely that you're going to want to go exploring. For this, you'll need keys. Unfortunately, because schedules go out the window and the car is rarely used, keys tend to disappear during camping adventures, meaning you might be left feeling pretty frustrated when the time comes to explore the area.

Save yourself from this hassle by placing a single Command Hook right by the door. Hang your keys on this hook and you'll never find yourself frantically searching for keys as its time to walk out the door again.

Remote Saver

Most people don't go camping to watch TV. That said, it does happen occasionally that a rainy day hits and you want to use the television in your home-on-wheels. When this urge hits, you’re going to want to have your remote control.

Make sure the remote is always close at hand by using a Command Strip to mount it to the wall near the TV. This will help prevent the need to dig through the couch cushions, making movie night a more pleasant experience for everyone.

Flashlight Finder

Flashlights are a necessity when camping, but are also quite good at hiding themselves away. This is incredibly irritating when you're trying to enjoy an evening outdoors, and an even bigger problem when you need to make your way to the bathhouse late at night.

Make sure your flashlights never wander away again by using Command Strips to adhere them to the inside of a cabinet. By doing this you'll be able to find your flashlights even when it's pitch dark in your RV.

Clearly, Scotch Command Hooks and Strips are a must-have for any RVer. They have a whole multitude of uses, earning them a place in every toolbox out there. Best of all, they're so easy to use, putting them up won't consume much time at all. This means more time for hiking, swimming, exploring, and making memories.
