Alaska Blog Post 8-30-15
So today was one of those hunker down days. We made it from Valdez to our last stop in Alaska, Sourdough Campground in Tok. Sourdough is under new ownership and it shows. The campground is such a great last stop with its huge private sites, surrounded by snow capped mountains and serving great hot breakfast up at the cafe. Since it decided to snow here this morning we kept it easy. Started with breakfast of reindeer sausage and eggs cooked by Tim, then came back to the rig to watch movies. We had to brave the cold (real feel was listed at 29 degrees) a couple of times to walk the pups but overall just had a fun time being lazy. For dinner it felt like a chili night so I used what was left of the cajun wild boar meat our son gave us this spring and made the first batch of chili for the fall season.

I wish I had a photo to share of the drive here yesterday. The mountains were in full fall colors with golds, yellows, reds, and different variations of greens with the snow topped mountains in the background it really brought home the fact that for Alaska fall is here. Funny when back in Florida and California our family is complaining about the 90+ degree weather.
