Alaska Blog Post 8-28-15
So sad just thinking about the fact that this is our last week in Alaska after such an amazing summer. This time next week we will be driving through Canada on our way to Utah. This summer has been packed with so many amazing memories that I was remiss in keeping up with my blog, will work on that as would love to share for those planning their future travels.

Last night was crazy. A wind storm started in the early evening and by dark the winds were steady at 30mph and gust up to at least 60mph. All night long we would fall asleep and then a huge gust would hit the rig and make it feel like a super strong earthquake, jarring us awake. Finally gave up sleeping and got up around 5am to see how the park fared. For the amount of wind it wasn't bad but then our rig wasn't the one that a loose vehicle rolled into or that the wooden picnic table poked a hole is. Originally we were supposed to leave Friday morning but when our radiator on the jeep cracked Wednesday we changed to leaving on Saturday so Jim could put a new one in, good thing because either way we weren't leaving with the winds whipping through the passes though some campers chose to try it.
