6 Ways To Cook Turkey In An RV
Thanksgiving is almost here. If you’ll be in your RV over the holiday, it is time to start thinking rv turkeyabout how you will prepare your meal. While most of the traditional sides are easy enough to make on the stove top or in your RV oven, some people have trouble believing a turkey can be prepared in such a small space.

Fortunately, those people are wrong. A turkey absolutely can be made in an RV. In fact, there are at least half a dozen ways to make one:
  1. Oven — Your RV oven may be tiny, but it is perfectly capable. By measuring the inner dimensions of your oven, you can find the perfect sized turkey. You can then roast it just as you would in a house. However, it does help to invest in a disposable aluminum pan that can be bent to fit the small oven space.
  2. Convection Oven — Did your RV come equipped with a convection oven? If so, you may even be able to use this to cook your turkey. That said, you will have to go pretty small. Still, many people report having great success with this method.
  3. Grill — You can actually save your valuable kitchen real estate and send that turkey outside. Stick your turkey on the hot grill, cover it with a lid, and wait. A while later, a delicious, smoky turkey will emerge.
  4. Electric Roaster — For those who want a hassle-free turkey without using their oven, an electric roaster is just the tool. These nifty gadgets can be picked up for $25–$40, and they get the job done perfectly. Best of all, they leave the oven free for making sides, and we all know sides are the real star of the Thanksgiving show.
  5. Instant Pot Pressure Cooker — If you’ve spent any time at all in the RV community, you know that Instant Pots are practically worshipped and always touted as the ultimate kitchen tool. Some RVers use their Instant Pots every day, and a few even make their Thanksgiving turkey in them. This is a super quick, pain-free way to get a turkey on the table this holiday.
  6. Deep Fryer — Okay, so the deep fryer method is on the messy side, and should definitely be done outdoors. However, it makes a delicious, moist turkey that your family is sure to gobble up.

Bonus tip: Many grocery stores and restaurants offer pre-made turkeys during the holidays. If you aren’t up to the challenge of cooking a bird in your RV, why not just pick one up and add some homemade sides?

I hope these tips help you as you prepare to celebrate this wonderful holiday in your tiny home-on-wheels.
