5 Upgrades Every Fulltimer Should Consider
If you have made the decision to live in an RV, you will likely soon realize there are quite a few unexpected changes you must make in order to live this lifestyle. For instance, your showers must be cut short due to a low hot water supply, and creative storage is the name of the game when it comes to working with RV cabinet space.

Fortunately, there are a number of ways to make these changes a bit less dramatic. Some of the best ways to make RV living comfortable involve making small upgrades to your rig. Even though you may not be looking to do tons of work on your RV, I can almost guarantee these five upgrades will be well worth your time.

#1: Replace the Shower Head

Remember that short shower problem we mentioned before? One way to help stretch your shower time is to replace the shower head. By choosing a low-flow shower head, you will get longer shower times with plenty of water pressure to go along with them.

#2: Switch Out the Water Heater

Of course, if you don’t mind investing a bit in your RV, you could solve the limited hot water issue at its source by replacing your small traditional, 6–10 gallon water heater with a tankless water heater. While this is an expensive upgrade, it’s also one that’s well worth the investment, as it provides unlimited hot water to your RV.

#3: Pull Out the Dinette

It’s no secret that RV dinettes are uncomfortable and awkward. In fact, we have met many full-timers who never use their dinettes for this very reason. For them, the dinette is merely taking up what would otherwise be usable space in their rig while they eat their meals outside.

Instead of allowing your RV dinette to take over your home, consider pulling that baby out and replacing it with a small table and chairs. This will likely prove much more comfortable and usable.

#4: Get Rid of the Carpet

Carpet is a dirt magnet, and pulling out the vacuum cleaner in a tiny home is no easy feat. By replacing all carpet in your rig with some sort of hard flooring, you will save yourself hours of frustrating carpet cleaning experiences.

#5: Invest in a Mattress

Another furniture category that isn’t exactly known for being comfortable is RV mattresses. These sleeping spaces are just fine for the occasional weekend trip, but definitely fall short when it comes to full-time living. Do yourself a huge favor and replace your RV mattresses with traditional mattresses. Your back will thank you for it. After all, sleeping is a third of your life; make the investment.
