3 Shoe Storage Solutions

Sometimes I feel like shoes are the bane of my existence. These things are everywhere in our RV, and we don't even own that many when compared to most other families. As you can imagine, this drives me absolutely bonkers, as I’m constantly tripping over somebody’s footwear.

Therefore, I set out on a mission to find a solution. Here are the best ones I’ve found so far.

#1: The Door-Side Container

This is what we implemented fairly recently, and it seems to be working well. Basically, we bought a tall trash can and set it next to the front door. All shoes are tossed inside and we no longer have to look at them or trip over them.

The trash can is big enough to hold all of our shoes quite nicely, but a larger family might want to pick up a large bin instead. Really, any container you can find will work just fine for keeping the footwear out of the way.

Some families use this same concept but keep the shoes in a watertight box outside of the rig. An outside option would be ideal for those with very limited space.

#2: Over-The-Door Holder

Over-the-door shoe holders are some of the handiest organization tools around. They hold all sorts of things, keeping it all organized and up out of the way. Best of all, because they hang over the door, you don't have to drill holes in the wall to hang them.

Obviously, I love over-the-door shoe holders, so it’s only natural that I would include them in my list. Unfortunately, we’re pretty limited on door space ourselves, but if you have any to spare, you can just hang your shoes up off the floor and your problem will be solved.

#3: Wall Hooks

Recently we met a clever family who used wall hooks for storing shoes. For the most part, this family only wears Crocs, and it just so happens that Crocs hang on hooks quite nicely.

In order to avoid drilling holes in the wall, these friends of ours used Scotch Command Hooks. They stuck them to the wall inside their RV, and just like that, their job was done.

Whenever they go inside now, every family member removes their shoes and hangs them on their designated hooks. No more tripping, no more lost shoes, and no more dirt tracked all over the rig. Pretty smart if you ask me!

Hopefully one of these solutions will help you solve the scattered-shoe problem in your RV. Have an idea of your own? Please share it in the comments!
