2016 Newmar Product Changes
Newmar has always been an innovator and adding new features or engineering designs is typical and can be expected in any new model year. However, Newmar has made a number of changes for the 2016 model year, many of which are substantial.

One of the most noticeable is the STAR chassis foundation. STAR stands for Strong, True And Robust. This steel superstructure strengthens the chassis beneath it, providing a stable platform for mounting the coach above with less flexing. This is particularly helpful with full wall slideouts, flat floor slides and ceramic tile throughout. The STAR foundation can be found on
Every diesel pusher chassis offered by Newmar this year, with the exception of the King Aire. The STAR foundation features full width crossmembers to create a level surface to properly support tile floors. The foundation id also designed to absorb the heavy camber load created by the engine, resulting in a flat floor to build the coach upon.

Beginning with the Mountain Aire, the buyer has a choice of the standard Freightliner chassis or an optional Spartan chassis. The King Aire is only built on the premium Spartan K3-GT chassis, which is a zero camber chassis with a 200 gallon fuel tank. Driver side DEF fillers are also featured in 2016.
