About This Property

Bledsoe Creek State Park is located on the backwaters of Old Hickory Lake. Surrounded on three sides by water and forest, this 169-acre park offers campers and day-use visitors an opportunity to observe an abundance of wildlife. The surrounding community is rich with history and various historical sites. Nearby Bledsoe’s Lick provided water and attracted game for Native Americans at Castalian Springs, a large prehistoric Mississippian village, and white settlers, who hunted abundant bison. The Bledsoe Creek territory became a State Park in 1973.

Open year-round, the campground has 58 sites equipped with amenities and 19 primitive sites. The two bathhouses are ADA compliant and a dump station is available year-round. Picnic shelters are available for reservation (the largest able to accommodate up to 100 people.) Pets are allowed but must always be leashed.

There are more than four miles of hiking trails ranging from easy to moderate, winding through bottomland and ridgetop forests. Two trails are ADA compliant. Recreational boating and fishing are popular activities. The park offers two boat launch ramps, seasonal kayak and paddleboard rentals and year-round fishing is available.
